Avocado Toast That Guaced My World!

While continuing my mission of finding the best brunch spots in Nashville, I came across a restaurant called Hearts Nashville located on 12th Avenue South.

A server greeted me at the entrance with a huge smile as soon as I walked inside which is something I always greatly appreciate. The atmosphere felt very inviting, and my stomach was hungry!

The menu features a variety of dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. But I believe the best way to determine if a restaurant is truly above average, is to see how they execute basic dishes.

I ordered the smashed avocado toast which included sweet corn and tomato salsa, red onion, jalapeno, cilantro, a lime on the side, and topped with a poached egg.

Preparing a beautifully vibrant dish is an art form that takes effort. I have lots of respect for restaurants that present dishes with even the smallest details taken under consideration to form a well-thought-out colorful plate like this one.

The idea of adding corn as a garnish for avocado toast was delightful and provided a refreshing sweetness to the traditionally savory dish.

The poached egg was perfectly cooked. The runny yolk marvelously poured on the toast as I cut through it with my knife.

The flavor explosion worked together excellently with hints of salty, sweet, tangy, and spicy goodness.

The toast was thick cut and crispy which made for a great bite paired with the creamy smashed avocado.

Another meal that filled my heart with so much gratitude and I left Hearts Nashville feeling better than I did coming in!
